It's Saturday today and feels like it should be a Sunday because Amber had yesterday off. Yesterday was a very fun day that was spent yet again exploring Brooklyn. Our ultimate goals for the day were to get some barbecue, because we can't actually have a barbecue, and then to see the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks display.
We took a route down Myrtle and then hooked a left onto Flatbush going towards Target. We reached the Smoke House shortly thereafter and we could almost taste the half-rack of baby back ribs. They are the kind of ribs where the meat falls right off of the bone. We got to the counter and placed our order only to find out that they were fresh out of them. Reluctantly, we settled for their Spare Ribs. The ribs were just okay buy our sides of macaroni and cheese and French Fries were y-u-m-m-y. Finishing our meal we took the southern home past Olivino's.
Amber and I had made it back home to relax before heading out for the fireworks. Shortly after getting back in my stomach began to hurt really badly and we suspect it was because of the Spare Ribs that we had earlier that afternoon. The lesson there: don't get their Spare Ribs and stick to the Baby Back Ribs (Please refer again to y-u-m-m-y). So yeah, if you haven't already guessed it: we never did end up getting out to the actual fireworks site. We did get to see the show however thanks to the superior view offered by our kitchen window! Just check out the pics down below!
